How it works

  1. 1

    Upload your video

Choose an MP4, MOV or WebM. It never leaves your browser.

  2. 2

    Add logo or text

Type your handle or upload a logo, then set size, opacity and rotation.

  3. 3

    Position & export

Drag it or tile it across the frame, then export with the audio kept.

Logo or text

Burn your brand, @handle, or copyright line into every frame of the clip.

Drag to place

Position the watermark exactly where you want and preview before exporting.

Tile the frame

Repeat the watermark across the whole video so it can't be cropped out.

Audio preserved

Your clip's original sound is kept in the exported watermarked video.

Add a Watermark to Any Video, Free

A video watermark keeps your name on your footage wherever it's reposted. Watermark Studio adds a visible logo or text watermark to your clips right in the browser — no upload, no account, no cost.

How to Add a Watermark to a Video for Free

Choose the video you want to protect, type your text or upload a transparent logo, and drag the watermark to the corner or center of the frame. Set the size and opacity, or tile the mark across the whole video so it can't be cropped out. Hit export and the watermark is burned into every frame while the clip plays, then downloaded as a new video file with the original audio intact.

Everything runs in your browser — your video is never uploaded, so even large or private clips stay on your device. Because the watermark is rendered frame by frame in real time, a one-minute clip takes about a minute to export. Keep the tab open while it records.

Where to Put a Video Watermark

For social platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, a small logo or @handle in a corner is the standard — visible enough to carry attribution, subtle enough not to distract. For footage you're sending to clients or licensing, a larger centered or tiled watermark makes the preview usable while making unlicensed use obvious. A tiled, semi-transparent watermark is the hardest to remove and the safest choice for public previews.

Position matters: avoid the very bottom (where platform UI and captions sit) and keep the mark clear of fast-moving action so it stays readable. You can drag the watermark to the exact spot and preview it before exporting.

Browser Support & Output Format

Video watermarking uses your browser's built-in canvas capture and recorder, which work best in the latest Chrome or Firefox on desktop. Exported clips are saved as WebM, a widely supported, high-quality web video format that plays in browsers and most modern players and uploads directly to YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. If your browser can't export video, the tool will tell you and you can switch to Chrome or Firefox.

Video Watermarking FAQs

Straight answers on what each workflow removes, how files are handled, and what result you should expect.

How do I add a watermark to an image for free?

Open Watermark Studio, drop your image in, type your text or upload a logo, drag it into position, and download. Visible watermarking is completely free, unlimited, and runs entirely in your browser — your image is never uploaded.

Can I add a watermark to a video?

Yes. The video tool burns a text or logo watermark into every frame of your clip and exports a new watermarked video with the audio preserved, all in your browser. You can position, resize, and tile the watermark just like on an image.

What's the difference between a visible and an invisible watermark?

A visible watermark is a logo or text overlaid on the file so everyone can see it. An invisible watermark is hidden in the pixels — the image looks untouched, but the mark survives screenshots and re-uploads and can be traced back to you with our detector. You can add either or both.

Will the watermark reduce my image quality?

No. Visible watermarks are composited at your image's native resolution, so the original pixels are preserved everywhere except under the mark. The invisible watermark makes changes too small to see (over 40dB PSNR).

Does the invisible watermark survive editing?

It's designed to. The invisible pixel watermark survives JPEG re-compression, resizing down to 50%, screenshots, and re-uploading through social platforms. Choose the 'Strong' durability setting for the most resilience.

Are my files uploaded to your servers?

Visible image and video watermarks are created entirely in your browser and never leave your device. Invisible watermarking and Content Credentials are processed on our server so we can sign and register the certificate, then returned over a private download link.

Do I need an account?

Visible watermarking works without signing in. To embed an invisible watermark or Content Credentials you'll need a free account; each invisible watermark costs one credit, and it's unlimited on a subscription.
